![]() Most of the CEO's "work" is sitting in meetings that suck time away from the people who have actual WORK to do. ![]() But they are by no means doing more work than a janitor or software engineer. Some of the work executives do is necessary, although the role itself is an ineffective way to get that work done. Secondly, executives self report doing less than 30 hours of actual work per supposed 55-hour work week, and when they self report how they spend their work day, include meals, exercise, travel, and all other sorts of things the rest of us don't get to include as part of our work day. ![]() ![]() I'm talking about the people who actually make the profits: owners of capital. Usually they are, but those aren't the same things. First of all, executives are not necessarily shareholders.
